It’s the 2015 release of The Irishman’s Cask Strength Irish whiskey, an ace expression released in limited numbers each year. It was drawn from specially selected ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 54% ABV. 2,595 bottles were produced.

Nose: Caramel and vanilla, with a little bit of honeycomb bringing to mind Crunchie bars.

Palate: Oak starts to ramp up here, with pepper and nutmeg adding a hearty hint of spice to the clean orchard fruit and milk chocolate notes.

Finish: Lasting nuttiness and a final touch of spices from the cask. Very long.

Overall: Big-bodied Irish whiskey – yum!
